  • Make stress balls– If you are a teacher or a parent, you know that kids can be fidgety and have a hard time sitting still. If you are looking for something to keep your child entertained at a restaurant, the doctor’s waiting room, or church, look no further.  Grab a package of balloons and fill a balloon with sand. Tie it up, and you now have an object that will keep your child quiet and sitting still.
  • Change paint texture– If you are looking to add some character to your home, consider paint texturing a wall. To do this, add between five and six cups of sand to a gallon of paint. This will give your project a unique, sandy look and feel.
  • Clean up spills– Have you spilled dish soap, laundry detergent, motor oil or any other type of gooey liquid? It is a pain to clean up, and you often make a bigger mess trying to contain it. If you sprinkle some sand on top of the spill, the liquid will clump, making it hassle-free.
